Film number 18 in my 365 Film Challenge is perhaps the least likely to win any awards at any time in the near future, except perhaps a Razzie. In short, here’s the plot: Three bad girls travel to a remote desert hideaway to steal $200 million in diamonds from a ruthless underworld kingpin. That’s it. The rest of it is filled with so much innuendo and T&A that it’ll blow the head off of any teen-aged boy.
With that said, this is perhaps one of the better B-Movies I have come across. The characters are so hokey they’re laughable and the premise, flashbacks and effects are so laughable that it appears that a grade schooler came up with them. But it’s that mix of pathetic acting and obvious green screen filming that make this such a great B-Movie. Add to the mix Kevin Sorbo (TV’s Hercules) and Lucy Lawless and Rene O’Connor (of TV’s Xena: Warrior Princess), and you’ve got an instant cult classic. I don’t know if they were truly going for an action packed thriller or if they were trying to get some laughs, but I can see that years from now, this will be the film featured in many a midnight madness showings.
My Serious Film Rating: 2.5 out of 10
